Metro – The Pre-cast revolution

Traffic-snarls were not a rare scene in the city of Delhi till about a few years back.It was normal to spend about an hour or, so at each traffic intersections, if it had a signal and more than a couple of hours if, the intersection had no signals. It was then that the government sanctioned the Metro-rail project and this changed the face of the city.

Playing online poker

Online Casinos and poker can at times be very interesting and can also help you make some money.

I was a person who had always tried to keep away from online casinos and pokers and would  keep advising people of the same. But a few minutes spent in one of the poker rooms changed the entire perspective. The time spent is worth it and also helps in earning a few quick bucks.

The thirst for a medal

How difficult is it for a nation of 1.13 billion people to produce a few good sportsmen who can bring home some medals? As we ponder over this question, we also appreciate the 3 medalists for India at the Olympics.’, ‘India finally managed to get a couple of medals at the Olympics. Three sons of the nation saved our face from yet another humiliation. A couple of days back there was an entire nation praying for the success of three boxers who managed to sneek into the quarter-finals of their respective category. All of a sudden there was so much hype with television channels interviewing their parents and friends and celebrations all around as if we had won the Gold medal. Two days into all this unnecessary hype, which I am sure would have made these poor players all the more nervous, 2 of them lost in their quarter-final bouts and the 3rd one finally managed to get into the semi-finals. Now the entire nation is happy again and content with even a bronze.
This has been the story for almost the past 50-60 odd years for India and this nation with a population of 1.13 billion, boasting that they are the 2nd most populous country in the world has not produced a single Gold medal in any of the Olympics.

The 2008 Olympics at Beijing, China began on the 8th of August with a skylit opening ceremony.’, ‘

It was 08:08 PM on the 8th of August 2008. A point in the day when all counters of life were at ”8” – a number some considered auspicious and yet others not so auspicious, the reason for which, I really do not know. Beijing was lit up with fireworks and lightings and the Bird”s Nest hosted the grand opening ceremony of the Olympics Games.

An hour in an Online Casino

I had never played on an online casino untill yesterday when I spent a couple of hours after one of my friends introduced me to one of these websites.

I have been reading about online casinos for some time now. You would also find quite a few advertisements on websites that promote online games, but I had never had the chance to participate in one till yesterday. One of my friends had introduced me to an online casino that he was a frequent visitor to. My first reaction was not very positive but a few minutes in one of them and my perception was changed.

Winning the consistent way

It is said that maintaining the winning momentum helps you to keep winning. Is this true and does it hold valid in all situations?’, ‘

“Winners don”t do different things; They do things differently”. This is a statement that any book of positive thinking would start with. Nobody would want to disagree to the fact that this is true and is important if you want to win.

The DTC revolution

The Delhi Transport Corporation is finally going through a renovation. The baking oven kind of buses are now bein replaced with cooler buses.’, ‘

The Delhi Transport Corporation is said to be the largest bus network in Asia. But the condition in which this transport system was maintained did not live upto this. A travel in one of the DTC buses was a nightmare but a lesser one as compared to the privately owned and run ”Blueline” buses.

The Story of a new blast

The Indian Government has again and again proved to be inefficient in handling terrorist attacks and innocent citizens are facing the consequences.

In one of my earlier post I had discussed about the blast at Mumbai. Its is been more than a year since then, and here we have the latest blast at Jaipur. In this long one year our government is yet to start their initiatives against these terrorists. Condolences, political visits to the site and everything else is still on, but ask them what is the action they have taken to prevent these things from happening again and you would not find an answer. At times I wonder what could be the reason to this? Probably the reason is that in the recent past there has been no instances of terrorist attacks or, blasts where a renowned politician has been killed. Oh! so that says it all. Then what is the need to panick and ponder over security measures. Just relax my dear politicians, till it happens.

An Ironical Law

Law is to ensure that the citizens of a country are doing the right things and so that the rights of every citizen is being protected. But is it being applied in the right sense everytime.’, ‘

Destroying wildlife is a crime but is protecting wildlife also a crime. This story is of a poor man who tried to save a sloth bear who was orphaned. He brought the bear cub home, fed it and cared for it like he cared for his only daughter.
