The best poem I ever read
This is a poem written by some anonymous person on the effects of drinking and driving. There could have been many such instances that we might not even have known. But the pain that the person who has suffered that loss is going through would be un-imaginable. For all those who drink and drive, let this poem be an eye-opener.
I went to a party Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank soda instead.
I really felt proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn’t drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.

Unsung Poetry
Beauty does not demand being beautiful physically.A lot of time we come across people who are beautiful in their hearts and minds. This poetry that I wrote is praising the beauty of such a girl.’, ‘
Beside the river flowing,
Underneath the tree,
I used to see her everyday,
She as beautiful as poetry.
When I crossed her everyday,
She would blink at me,
And when she heard me singing at times,
She would pass a smile at me,
Sitting underneath the tree,
She as beautiful as poetry.

The Last Rays of light
How would the last minutes of life be? What is it that my heart and mind would be going through? At times I wonder what it would be like when you know you are about to leave this beautiful world, or is it an ugly world?’, ‘
As the deep breathes, you hear no more,
And slight gasps take their place,
As my heart beats subsides,
As if they forgot their pace,
There are no more words, mouth can speak,
And all you hear are sighs of despair,
I want you to open my door
And open it wide,
Open it wide,
That I can see the last rays of light

The shelf of mine
There are lots of people who come into our life and then move out and we don”t even realize when they went away.At times when we sit down and think of then we feel nostalgic.A poem on my lost friends.’, ‘
I once arranged that shelf of mine,
That shelf of mine with books I love,
And I read,
And I read through every line,
To the last page from the first,
Books that I had read through,
And would want to touch again,
Books that were chapters in my life,
Chapters of joy and sorrows,
Happiness and pain,

A Lost Winner
This is one of my alltime favorite poems that I wrote on the consequences of a war. Who stand to win at the end of the war – is it the victor, or the looser. I wonder who.
The smoke had subsided,
And the noises dead,
Some of them rejoiced,
And yet others fled,
Victory for some,
And loss for the other,
I wonder, Oh! God,
Who were the looser?
And who were the others.
I saw an old man,
Against his stick, stooping,
Barely could he walk,
Searching for something,
He was on the victors” side,
Yet he had lost something,
I wonder, Oh! God,
Is he a looser who lost everything?
Or, a victor who gained nothing.

The Monsoons
The wait for monsoons in Delhi is a tiring one. When you see the first drop of rain you feel that all your pains are about to be washed off but alas…’, ‘
Dark clouds all around,
And darkness does surround,
Smell of mud the breeze does bring,
Bells of monsoon did start to ring,
The clouds above thunder and roar,
The tides in the ocean also did soar,
Monsoon, Monsoon, the wait is ending,
Monsoon bells have started ringing.
The first drop of rain did fall,
Frowned faces were smiling all,
Danced the greenery to the tune of rain,
Tiredness, all the farmers did drain,
Monsoon, monsoon the wait is ending,
Monsoon bells have started ringing.

If Tomorrow Never Comes
There are moments in life when we feel, only if we could do everything we wanted today itself. What is “Tomorrow never comes”? This is a poem I wrote, one such evening when I felt so…’, ‘
Today,
I stretched my hands far along
And I yearned to embrace the air with my arms,
To feel powerful as a colossus,
”Coz, if tomorrow never comes.
Today,
I spread my hands wide apart
And took a leap far above into the sky,
To reach far across so high,
”Coz, if tomorrow never comes.
Today,

I see her at times
The shadows in life can be seen at the same time on some peoples face and behavior. The face of a woman is probably the best mirror to it. An ode to the strongest power on earth-the woman…’, ‘
I see her at times,
There sitting lonely,
Nothing she utters nor, whispers,
A statue so so, stonily,
And I wonder what she is,
Wordsworth’’s “Solitary Reaper”,
Or, is she, “The lady of the dark”.
Her face narrates stories lot,
And her smiles sing songs a lot,
A melancholy tune at times it is,
That sadness had brought,
And then a tune so happy,
That no teachers ought taught.

The Picture I Paint
We come across lot of pretty faces in our life. But when we look through them we find that they are so ugly that it seems better to keep them inside your heart locked away from the world.
When the sun is half-set,
And the tides in the ocean are high,
When the sky is painted orange,
And the chariot of darkness begins to fly,
When the birds are flying back to their nests,
And the earth slides into the blanket of evening to rest,
I”ll paint a picture of you,
A picture of you, with no colors,
With no strokes and no brushes,
I”ll paint you without a canvas,
Without a shade and without a pencil,
You as beautiful as ever,
No wrinkles and no scars,
As bright as the moon and friendly as the stars,
