Sleeping Child
What is the safest place to be on earth? It is a ”Mother’’s arms”. The warmth and affection you get there can be found nowhere. I wish I could spend my life there. A poetry dedicated to all the mothers in the world.
I wish I were a sleeping child,
Sleeping in the arms of a mother,
Feeling the warmth of her embrace,
Her hands, shells to me smother,
A shell as secured as that of an Oyster,
Her lips singing a lullaby,
A song as sweet as honey,
Singing me the wonders of the world,
Taking me far from faces not crony.
I wish I were a sleeping child,
Sleeping in a cradle, cozy and furry,
Smiling in his sleep, seeing dreams beautiful,
Journeying faster than time would hurry,
Innocence in every expression,
Wrinkles of hardships you could hardly find,
Peaceful as the tunes from a flute,
Melodious in every sighs and sounds,
Sleeping a sleep, I haven”t slept for years.
