The hullaboo of terror
What is all this hullaboo about who, rather which caste should be stamped the terrorist outfit? A discussion on whether this it is right to attach terrorism to a particular caste is imperative.
A couple of blast across the country in the span of a few days and a few news channels flashing out some emails that were received from some self-proclaimed terrorist outfit called the Indian Mujahideen, and suddenly all daggers were pulled out on the Muslims. Add to this a shootout at one of the Muslim dominated part of the capital and the masala was ready. Self-proclaimed well-wishers of the Muslims and their counterparts from the Hindus then had an agenda – an agenda for elections, an agenda for rallies and an agenda for disruption of work and destruction of public property.
But, we as citizens of the country did not once think if all this was necessary, before we shouted slogans in support of these not-so-well-wishing well-wishers. Was this discussion on the subject necessary. Is it that terrorism and crime is the patent of one religion. Absolutely not. There might be hundreds of Muslims in the people who die in these bomb blasts. Were they too, terrorists? They were not. Then why to stamp the Muslims as terrorists.
At the same time our Muslim brothers do not understand the fact that our fight is against terrorism. It is against the ones who kill our brothers and sisters. The fact that they are Muslims is just an irony. So if there is a shootout in a Muslim dominated area killing a couple of Muslim terrorists, it is not against the entire Muslim population that this shootout was targetted.
We will have to understand and acknowledge the fact that terrorism can only be controlled if we unite in the fight against it. We will have to understand each other and trust each other if we are to stop these so called “Jihad i Killings”. Or, else we would keep loosing our brothers and sisters like we did in the Mumbai train blasts or, the Jaipur blasts. We would keep loosing and our enemy – terrorism, will keep gaining from it.
